Source: CANNEX Financial Exchanges via AdvisorWorld public API, as of June 27, 2026. Rates vary by state, premium band, and issue age. Standard FIA cap, participation, and performance-trigger tables rank recognizable public benchmark indexes only, and only within a single index plus crediting-term cohort. Guarantees are backed by the issuing carrier's claims-paying ability, not FDIC insured.

In context

Today's best MYGA vs. a CD benchmark

A multi-year guaranteed annuity locks a guaranteed rate like a CD, but it is tax-deferred and backed by the issuing insurer rather than FDIC insurance.

Know before you buy

What counts as a good annuity rate?

Rate is not everything

A higher rate from a lower-rated carrier can be a different tradeoff than a lower rate from an A-rated carrier. AM Best is shown with every carrier rate row.

Match the term

A longer MYGA term can pay more, but it also locks the surrender period longer. Compare terms against your actual timeline.

Read the metric label

Guaranteed rate, cap, participation rate, spread, bonus, and roll-up rate are separate numbers. The tables label the metric, basis, and term.

Best annuity rates FAQ

What is the best annuity rate today?

The best annuity rate depends on product type, term, state, premium band, and carrier rating. This page shows the top current MYGA guaranteed rates and the top S&P 500 1-year FIA cap rows from CANNEX with AM Best ratings.

Why are MYGA rates and FIA caps shown separately?

A MYGA rate is a guaranteed fixed rate for a term. An FIA cap is an index-crediting limit, not a guaranteed yield. They are different metrics and should not be ranked in one column.

Why are participation rates excluded from the FIA cap table?

Participation rates, spreads, fixed-account rates, bonuses, and caps are different crediting metrics. The FIA cap table ranks only S&P 500 annual point-to-point caps and blocks implausible cap values.

Are annuity rates FDIC insured?

No. Annuity guarantees are backed by the issuing insurance carrier's claims-paying ability. The CD benchmark is shown only for context and is not part of the CANNEX annuity feed.

Sources and data: all annuity rates are sourced from CANNEX Financial Exchanges through the AdvisorWorld public API, as of June 27, 2026. The CD figure is the FDIC national 60-month CD benchmark via FRED, not a CANNEX rate. Rates vary by state, premium band, and issue age; caps and participation rates can change.
