Why it can stand out

  • Contract pays a large up-front premium bonus on every dollar of premium, applied to the account value at issue — the 'Bonus' designation in the name comes from this credit, which the base AssetShield 9 chassis does not carry. Read the bonus rate and any vesting schedule in the bonus section before reading any crediting number on this page.
  • Crediting menu pairs a recognizable S&P 500 Index annual point-to-point cap with a participation-rate allocation on a dividend-aristocrats daily-risk-control excess-shows index, giving the buyer one clean apples-to-apples cap alongside a lower-volatility participation alternative inside the same contract.
  • A declared fixed-rate bucket sits alongside the index strategies, so a buyer can park part of the premium in a non-indexed allocation without leaving the contract.

  • The premium bonus is paid for through structurally tighter crediting and a longer surrender horizon than the base AssetShield 9 chassis: the headline S&P 500 cap on the bonus variant runs materially lower than the cap on the non-bonus sibling, and the surrender schedule runs the full nine years. Read the bonus as a deferred trade for lower headline crediting and longer lockup, not as free money on top of the same caps.
  • The death benefit on this contract is the carrier's standard death benefit with no roll-up and no step-up — heirs receive the contract value under the standard rules, not an account-value bump or a rolled-up income base, so buyers prioritizing a guaranteed legacy enhancement should evaluate that separately.
  • This contract is currently state-restricted to California only on this rollout — buyers outside California will see this product as unavailable, and the comparable sibling for other states is the non-bonus AssetShield 9 (a different filing with its own crediting and surrender terms).
