Methodology

How the contract-review flags work

Visitor-entered facts stay labeled. Portfolio value, allocations, current contract metrics, state, age, deferral, term, and next contract date come from the visitor. AnnuityRatesHQ cannot inspect a policy, statement, renewal notice, or carrier account.

Leading eligible current references. CANNEX via AdvisorWorld supplies the carrier, product, guaranteed MYGA rate, no-fee annual S&P 500 FIA cap, FIA income withdrawal rate, and source freshness. The MYGA row is the rank-one eligible result for the exact term, state, and allocated dollars. The FIA growth row uses the exact state and allocated dollars; the FIA income row uses the exact age, deferral, and state. Each family is checked and displayed separately; no row is a market average, existing-contract quote, or recommendation.

Exact formula thresholds. A comparison flag appears when the leading eligible current reference is at least 0.50 percentage points above the visitor-entered MYGA rate, 1.00 point above the visitor-entered FIA cap, or 0.50 points above the visitor-entered FIA withdrawal rate. An allocation above 60% triggers an allocation-review flag. A next contract date within 6 months triggers a timing-review flag. These arithmetic prompts do not grade a contract or determine suitability.

Unlike metrics never combine. A guaranteed MYGA rate, FIA index cap, and FIA rider withdrawal rate describe different mechanics. The summary never adds or averages them, and it never presents them as a blended return.

Refresh and source dates. Current reference data refreshes on a 10-minute cadence. An as-of date comes only from a verified source synchronization record; page, browser, and build times are never used as data dates.

How to cite this tool

Cite the exact inputs and each metric by name

“AnnuityRatesHQ Portfolio Health Summary, [portfolio value and allocation], [visitor-entered contract metrics], separate current MYGA, FIA growth, and FIA income references from CANNEX via AdvisorWorld, [visible grounded date], [exact permalink].”

Describe visitor-entered values as reported assumptions. Call the current percentage a guaranteed rate, cap, or lifetime withdrawal rate exactly as labeled. Do not call a flag advice, a product grade, a replacement recommendation, or a suitability finding. If a grounded source date is not visible, do not invent one.

Frequently asked questions

Does this summary decide whether my annuity portfolio is healthy or suitable?

No. The title describes a contract-review checklist, not a suitability score or recommendation. The page applies disclosed arithmetic flags to user-entered contract metrics and keeps each live market reference in its own product family.

Which figures come from me and which come from current data?

Portfolio value, allocation percentages, current contract rate, current cap, current withdrawal rate, age, deferral, timing, term, and state are visitor-entered hypothetical inputs. The leading eligible current carrier, product, MYGA guaranteed rate, FIA cap, FIA lifetime withdrawal rate, and grounded source dates come from CANNEX via AdvisorWorld; the selected rows are not market averages, quotes, or recommendations.

Does the tool average a MYGA rate, an FIA cap, and an income withdrawal rate?

Never. Those percentages describe unlike contract mechanics. They stay in separate sections and are not added, averaged, or relabeled as a portfolio return.

What do the review flags mean?

Flags are formula-based prompts to inspect a contract document or current reference. They are not product grades. The methodology states each threshold, and a flag can be triggered only from the visitor’s inputs and an available like-for-like reference.

What happens if only one current data source is available?

The page shows the available family-specific reference and an honest unavailable message for each missing family. A missing rate, cap, withdrawal rate, carrier, or date is never replaced with a default.

How current are the market references?

Current data refreshes on a 10-minute cadence. An as-of date appears only when the source includes a verified CANNEX synchronization date; page-view and build times are never substituted.
