After the guaranteed term, interest rates renew annually, subject to the minimum guaranteed rate of 3.00%.

Eleos®-SP is a Single Premium Deferred Annuity (SPDA) with a 5-year guaranteed interest rate period. The owner makes a one-time premium payment and earns the fixed guaranteed interest rate for the first five contract years. After the guarantee period, the renewal interest rate is declared by the company and will not be less than the contract’s minimum guaranteed interest rate.

After the five-year guarantee period, Reliance Standard will declare a new interest rate annually. This renewal rate will never be lower than the minimum guaranteed rate of 1.60% (or 3.00% in some versions of the brochure depending on the publication).

Surrender value is equal to the annuity value minus applicable surrender charges. Minimum guaranteed value is the greater of:

Withdrawals may be taken as a lump sum or spread throughout the year; however, only one penalty-free withdrawal request per contract year is allowed, and the minimum request is $500. If withdrawals exceed the 10% allowance in any contract year, surrender charges and the MVA apply to the entire amount withdrawn in that year.

This annuity provides a fixed interest rate for the initial five-year period, followed by annual renewal rates that cannot fall below the minimum guarantee. Withdrawals exceeding the free withdrawal limit in the first five years are subject to both surrender charges and a market value adjustment (MVA). The MVA modifies the surrender value based on current interest rate conditions.
