Global Atlantic – ForeCare®

Global Atlantic ForeCare® is a single-premium fixed annuity with a long-term care (LTC) benefit rider issued by Forethought Life Insurance Company. It is designed for clients who want to reposition non-qualified assets into a conservative, principal-protected contract that provides tax-deferred interest growth while also creating a dedicated strategy for addressing future long-term care expenses. Unlike a traditional multi-year guaranteed annuity that locks a rate for a defined term, ForeCare credits interest at a rate that is declared annually, and it is structured around a 9-year withdrawal charge period, making it best suited for long-term planning rather than short-term liquidity needs. The contract’s distinguishing feature is the ability to expand the total long-term care benefit pool to either 2x or 3x of the contract value depending on underwriting approval, providing meaningful leverage if long-term care becomes necessary. At the same time, ForeCare maintains residual value: if long-term care is not needed or only partially used, any remaining contract value can still pass to beneficiaries as a death benefit, supporting the “use it for care if needed, otherwise leave what remains” planning objective.
