If you withdraw funds or fully surrender the Security 3 contract before the end of the 3-year guarantee period, you will incur a surrender charge. These charges apply as a percentage of the amount withdrawn and are highest in the early years of the contract. The surrender charge is 9% in the first year, 8% in the second year, and 7% in the third year. Additionally, a Market Value Adjustment (MVA) may apply, which could increase or decrease the surrender value depending on interest rate conditions at the time of withdrawal. Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs) are exempt from these charges. No free withdrawals are included unless optional riders are selected, which would reduce the credited interest rate.

For the Security 5 annuity, if you make a withdrawal or surrender the policy before completing the 5-year guarantee period, surrender charges will be assessed based on how long the policy has been in effect. The surrender charges are 9% in year 1, 8% in year 2, 7% in year 3, 6% in year 4, and 5% in year 5. A Market Value Adjustment (MVA) will also apply to early withdrawals exceeding any allowed amount, potentially increasing or decreasing the total surrender value. As with Security 3, RMDs are exempt from surrender charges. Free withdrawals and death benefit features are available via optional riders, which will slightly reduce the guaranteed interest rate.
