A surrender charge applies to full or partial withdrawals made outside of permitted free-withdrawal provisions, including RMDs, interest withdrawals, and emergency events. These charges decline over time and are waived during the final 30 days of the initial guaranteed period. A Market Value Adjustment may also apply based on changes in interest rates. After the second term ends, no additional surrender charges apply.

Each California MYGA is issued using a one-time lump-sum premium with a guaranteed interest rate fixed for the chosen duration: 3, 5, or 9 years. Interest is credited and compounded daily, and the annuity includes two consecutive interest rate guarantee periods of equal length. These contracts allow for monthly interest withdrawals and come with the Member Emergency Access Rider for qualifying hardship withdrawals. A full death benefit is paid without any surrender charge or market adjustment. Contracts are issued to individuals aged 18 to 85 for non-qualified and IRA plans, and up to 85 for SEP IRAs. Upon completion of the first term, the annuity renews for a second term of equal length at a new declared rate. After the second term, the contract renews annually.

Royal Neighbors of America’s MYGA 3-, 5-, and 10

-Year annuities are single premium deferred annuities designed to deliver tax-deferred growth and guaranteed interest over fixed durations. Each contract features two equal guaranteed interest rate periods—either 3, 5, or 10 years—providing both long-term stability and flexibility for retirement savers. These products include a Market Value Adjustment (MVA), which can impact early withdrawal value based on changes in interest rates, and offer penalty-free options for required distributions, hardship access, and monthly interest payouts.

The Surrender Charge will apply to a full or partial surrender of the premiums paid. The charge does not apply to any distribution of interest earnings. The Surrender Charges are based on the length of the MYGA term. For the 3-Year MYGA, the charges are 9%, 8%, and 7% respectively in years 1 to 3. For the 5-Year MYGA, charges are 9%, 8%, 7%, 6%, and 5% in years 1 to 5. For the 9-Year MYGA, charges begin at 9% and gradually decline each year to 0.5% in year 10, followed by 0% beyond year 10. However, California MYGAs are not subject to a Market Value Adjustment and include a penalty-free 30-day window before each renewal term where no surrender charges apply

The Death Benefit Proceeds will be paid upon the death of the Owner. The Death Benefit Proceeds is defined as the Account Value, without any surrender charge or Market Value Adjustment.

This rider is automatically attached to all MYGA Certificates and becomes effective on the Issue Date of the Certificate. After the first Certificate Year, and upon the occurrence of a Qualifying Emergency Event, the Owner is eligible for a one-time withdrawal of up to 50% of the account value which is the account value as of the beginning of the Certificate Year in which the withdrawal is made, not to exceed $250,000.

Partial withdrawal up to the amount of remaining accumulated interest. Claims made under the Member Emergency Access Rider. Surrenders within the last 30-days of the Initial Guaranteed Period. Required Minimum Distributions (RMD). 

Thirty days prior to the end of the initial guaranteed period, the Owner will be notified of the interest rate for the new guaranteed period. During these 30 days, no Surrender Charge will be applied to partial or full surrenders. No action is necessary if the client wishes to continue the Certificate with the new guaranteed interest rate for another guaranteed period of the same number of years. Following the two guaranteed periods, the interest crediting rate will renew on a rate set by Royal Neighbors of America annually.

Account Value minus applicable surrender charges unless the withdrawal qualifies under exceptions such as RMDs or emergencies.
