The Ultra Premier℠ annuity includes a declining surrender charge schedule that applies during the guaranteed interest rate period. For the 5-year option, surrender charges are 9% in years 1 and 2, 8% in year 3, 7% in year 4, and 6% in year 5. For the 7-year option, charges are 9% in years 1 and 2, 8% in year 3, 5% in year 4, 4% in year 5, 3% in year 6, and 2% in year 7. A Market Value Adjustment (MVA) may also apply to withdrawals or surrenders before the end of the guarantee period. However, the policy offers waivers of these charges under certain conditions such as disability, terminal illness, unemployment, or the death of a spouse or minor dependent. Additionally, a 30-day free-look period allows you to cancel the policy for any reason and receive a full refund of your initial premium without penalty.
